Zencontrol’s DALI-2 Room Controller is effectively a application controller that is divided into 10 channels providing automatic addressing and grouping of connected devices.
The unit features a relay (for switched loads) and a DALI connection for each channel (which can be controlled separately) and DALI devices connected to a channel will automatically be programmed to work together out of the box. Replaced fittings will automatically be re-addressed and in the event of a DALI short, the channel effected will automatically be isolated from the other channels.
Wiring
With the zencontrol Room controller, wiring becomes simpler and easier. Compared to traditional LCM wiring, less custom lead lengths are required making installation for the luminaire manufacturer and the installer easier.
For each room simply connect all light fittings, sensors, switches and emergency lighting together and back into a single channel on the Room controller.

The controller works seamlessly with all DALI-2 components, such as motion sensors, switches, light sensors (pro version) etc and among other things also fully supports the DALI 209 standard with TC (tuneable white), xy and RGBWAF control.
The controller also features 10 low level inputs for connection to standard push to make switches, two extra low voltage outputs as well as a 232 input for external integration.
Each controller also has a built in timeclock, on board Ethernet and also supports BACnet natively (no gateways needed).
Shorts
From time to time manufacturers products fail, in some cases the DALI ballast or drivers can short the DALI line. In other cases, poor wiring or setup can lead to a DALI line short. Most installers know that finding a DALI short is a timely process which can sometimes leave the lights uncontrollable for some time.
The room controller is able to identify the room in which a short is present and isolate it from the rest of the DALI line. This significantly reduces the fault-finding time and leaves all other rooms operational.
